01

General Questions

What types of devices do you repair?

We repair smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, computers, game consoles, and selected other electronic devices. Services include screen and battery replacement, charging-port repair, back glass, camera and audio hardware repair, glass-only refurbishment, advanced board-level repair, and selected data-recovery work. Availability depends on the exact model, device condition, required parts, and type of fault.

Where is iFixAndFlip located?

We are based in the Kitchener–Waterloo area. Visits and device drop-offs are available by appointment only. Exact drop-off details are provided after your repair request is approved.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes. Please submit a repair request or contact us before visiting. This allows us to review the device, confirm availability, and provide the correct drop-off instructions.

How can I request a repair quote?

Use our Get a Quote form and include the device model, problem description, preferred contact method, and clear photos whenever possible.

Do you offer repair services for dealers and repair shops?

Yes. iFixAndFlip provides B2B repair services for approved repair shops and electronics dealers. Available services may include glass-only repair, back glass repair, board-level repair, data recovery, and selected specialist repairs.

Dealer pricing, turnaround times, shipping options, volume requirements, and service terms are provided after the business has been reviewed and approved.

02

Glass-Only Repair

What is glass-only screen repair?

Glass-only repair replaces the broken outer glass while preserving the original OLED or LCD display panel when the original image and touch functions are still working correctly.

What devices are eligible for glass-only repair?

We offer glass-only repair for eligible iPhone and Samsung Galaxy smartphones, iPad tablets, Apple Watch models, and selected other smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches.

Availability depends on the exact model, parts availability, frame condition, previous repair history, and whether the original OLED or LCD panel and touch functions pass inspection and testing. Please submit the exact model for confirmation.

Can every cracked screen receive glass-only repair?

No. The original display must pass inspection and testing. Black areas, coloured lines, image loss, flickering, touch problems, internal panel damage, heavy frame damage, or previous poor-quality repairs may require a complete screen replacement instead.

Why preserve the original display?

When the display is suitable for refurbishment, preserving the original panel can help retain the device’s original image quality, touch performance, fit, brightness, and display characteristics.

Can the display be damaged even if the outer glass is not cracked?

Yes. An OLED or LCD panel can suffer internal physical damage without a visible crack in the outer glass. Symptoms can include vertical or horizontal coloured lines, black ink-like areas, flickering, pressure marks, partial image loss, a black screen, or touch failure.

Will the device remain water-resistant after repair?

A device that has been opened or repaired should not be treated as factory water-resistant. New adhesive may be installed where applicable, but original manufacturer water-resistance cannot be guaranteed after repair.

03

Advanced / Board-Level Repair

What is board-level repair?

Board-level repair involves diagnosing and repairing faults on the device’s logic board or motherboard. This may include damaged circuits, connectors, power lines, charging faults, liquid damage, no-power conditions, and other component-level failures.

Is advanced repair always successful?

No. Some devices have extensive, hidden, or irreversible damage. We assess each device carefully, but successful diagnosis, data recovery, or repair cannot be guaranteed before testing has been completed.

How are liquid-damaged devices handled?

Liquid-damaged devices require individual assessment. Corrosion can continue spreading and may affect multiple components over time. A successful repair does not guarantee the long-term reliability of other parts affected by previous liquid exposure.

Can you recover data from a device that does not turn on?

Data recovery may be possible depending on the device, storage condition, security system, and type of damage. No data recovery result can be guaranteed before the device is diagnosed.

04

Mail-In Repair

Do you accept mail-in repairs?

Yes. Mail-in repair service is available across Canada after your repair request has been reviewed and approved.

How does the mail-in process work?

Submit your repair request first. After approval, we provide shipping instructions. Once the device arrives, it is inspected and diagnosed. We contact you before completing additional work or making changes that require your approval.

Should I send accessories with my device?

Send only accessories that we specifically request. In most cases, protective cases, SIM cards, memory cards, chargers, cables, and unrelated accessories should be removed before shipping.

Who is responsible for shipping damage?

Devices must be packaged securely. Shipping claims are subject to the carrier’s terms, packaging requirements, declared value, and insurance coverage. Customers should keep clear photos of the device and packaging before shipment.

05

Turnaround Times

How long will my repair take?

Turnaround time depends on the repair type, device condition, parts availability, required testing, shipping time, and current workload. An estimated timeframe is provided after the device or repair request has been reviewed.

Is the estimated completion time guaranteed?

No. Estimates are provided in good faith but may change if hidden damage is discovered, parts are delayed, additional testing is required, or the repair becomes more complex than expected.

Will I receive updates during the repair?

Yes. We will contact you when approval is needed, when important diagnostic information becomes available, or when the repair is ready for pickup or return shipping.

06

Payment

When is payment required?

Payment of the final approved balance is due before a repaired device is released for pickup or return-shipped. Unless a price is expressly stated to include tax, quoted prices are subject to applicable HST. Approved special-order parts, donor devices, shipping, or other agreed non-recoverable costs may also be payable as described in our Repair Terms & Conditions.

Can the final price change after diagnosis?

The price may change if inspection reveals additional damage or a different repair is required. We will contact you for approval before completing work that changes the agreed price.

What happens if my repair needs a special-order part or donor device?

Some repairs require a model-specific part, donor board, donor device, display, housing, or other item purchased specifically for that repair. We will explain the cost and ask for your approval before committing to the purchase.

We do not normally require advance payment before ordering the item. However, once you approve the special-order or other non-recoverable cost and we order or commit to it, that approved cost remains payable even if the final repair is unsuccessful, unless we agree otherwise or applicable law requires otherwise.

Are quoted prices before tax?

Yes, unless we expressly state that a price includes tax. Otherwise, applicable HST is added to the quoted price.

Is there a diagnostic fee?

Standard diagnosis is currently provided without a diagnostic fee. If an approved repair is unsuccessful, iFixAndFlip does not charge the labour fee for that unsuccessful repair. Separately approved special-order parts, donor devices, shipping, or other non-recoverable costs may still be payable.

Can I provide my own replacement part?

iFixAndFlip does not normally install customer-supplied replacement parts because the source, compatibility, condition, and quality cannot always be verified.

An exception may be considered for a compatible donor device or another customer-provided item when iFixAndFlip expressly agrees in advance. Any labour, testing, or warranty limitations for that exception will be confirmed before work proceeds.

07

Warranty

90-Day Limited Warranty

Coverage applies to the documented repair—not the entire device.

The warranty covers the specific documented repair, our workmanship, and any eligible part supplied and installed by iFixAndFlip. It does not cover the entire device, unrelated faults, new damage, misuse, or conditions outside the completed repair.

How long is the repair warranty?

The limited warranty lasts for 90 calendar days beginning on the repair completion date shown on your invoice or repair record. A warranty concern must be reported within this 90-day period.

What does the 90-day warranty cover?

The warranty covers eligible defects involving the specific documented repair, our repair workmanship, and an eligible part supplied and installed by iFixAndFlip when that covered repair issue returns.

Coverage does not extend to the entire device or to components that were not part of the documented repair.

What is excluded from warranty coverage?

Warranty coverage does not apply to new physical damage, impacts, drops, pressure, bending, crushing, twisting, new cracks, internal display or panel damage, liquid or moisture exposure, corrosion, excessive heat, fire, misuse, improper storage, unauthorized modifications, or damage occurring after the repair.

Unrelated component failures, software issues, account or password problems, data loss, accessories, cosmetic wear, and faults not connected to the documented repair are also excluded.

Can a display be physically damaged even if the outer glass is not cracked?

Yes. An OLED or LCD panel can suffer internal physical damage without an obvious crack in the outer glass. Symptoms may include coloured vertical or horizontal lines, black ink-like areas, flickering, pressure marks, image loss, a partially black screen, or touch failure.

Warranty eligibility is determined through physical inspection and review of the device’s recorded condition, not only by whether the outer glass appears cracked.

Are liquid-damage repairs covered for 90 days?

The specific workmanship and any iFixAndFlip-supplied part used during a completed liquid-damage repair receive the same 90-day limited warranty.

Continuing corrosion, hidden damage caused by the original liquid exposure, failure of other affected components, and any new liquid or moisture exposure are not covered.

What happens if another repair shop opens or works on the device?

Warranty coverage does not apply when the device or covered repair area has been opened, altered, damaged, or worked on by another person or service provider in a way that affects the covered repair or prevents us from accurately assessing the claim.

This may include unauthorized repair attempts, tampering, modifications, or replacement of parts connected to the original repair.

Are customer-supplied parts covered?

Unless otherwise confirmed in writing, iFixAndFlip does not warranty the quality, compatibility, or lifespan of a part supplied by the customer.

Our documented installation workmanship may remain covered for 90 days, provided the reported problem was not caused by the customer-supplied part.

What should I do if the repaired problem returns?

Contact us within the 90-day warranty period and provide your invoice, repair number, or other proof of service. Stop using the device if continued use may cause additional damage.

The device must be returned or made available for inspection. Inspection is required before warranty coverage can be approved.

What happens after a warranty claim is approved?

When inspection confirms that the problem is covered, iFixAndFlip will correct the covered issue by repeating the applicable repair or replacing the defective iFixAndFlip-supplied part, as appropriate, without charging again for the covered work.

What happens if the problem is not covered by warranty?

If inspection shows new damage, an unrelated fault, misuse, liquid exposure, or another excluded condition, the repair will not be treated as warranty work. We will explain the findings and provide a new estimate before completing any additional paid repair.

Is customer data guaranteed during repair or warranty service?

No repair process can guarantee the preservation of customer data. Customers should back up important information whenever reasonably possible. Devices with unstable, liquid-damaged, boot-looping, intermittently restarting, no-power, or board-level faults may become inaccessible because of the underlying condition even during a reasonable repair attempt.

If a proposed step is reasonably expected to require an intentional factory reset, restore, reinstallation, or other data-erasing procedure, additional customer authorization will be requested before that step is performed. Data recovery is a separate service unless specifically included in the written repair agreement.

Is the repair warranty transferable?

The warranty is connected to the original repair record, device identification, and original customer. It is not transferable unless iFixAndFlip confirms otherwise in writing.
