Glass-only repair is a refurbishment process that removes and replaces the damaged outer glass while preserving the original OLED or LCD display when possible.
Instead of replacing the entire screen assembly, the original functioning display is retained.
For an eligible screen, the general goal is:
Broken outer glass → original display preserved → new glass installed
This is different from a standard complete screen replacement, where the entire display assembly is removed and replaced with another unit.

Why Preserve the Original Display?

Can a Display Be Damaged Without Cracked Glass?
Yes.
One of the most important things to understand is that the condition of the outer glass does not always tell you the condition of the display underneath it.
A strong impact can damage an OLED panel internally even when the front glass remains intact.

- Vertical lines
- Black areas
- Flickering
- Pressure marks
- Partial image loss
- Touch failure
For the same reason, a heavily cracked outer glass does not automatically mean the display itself is damaged.
The screen needs to be evaluated based on how the actual display and touch functions are behaving.
Should You Keep Using a Phone With Broken Glass?
Even when the display still works, damaged glass should not be ignored indefinitely.
Cracks can become worse with continued use, and broken areas may become more vulnerable to additional impact, pressure, dust, or moisture.
