Legal & Repair Authorization

Repair Terms & Conditions

These Repair Terms & Conditions explain how estimates, approvals, parts, testing, data, payment, risk, pickup, and other repair-related matters are handled by iFixAndFlip. They apply to local repair services unless separate written terms are agreed for a particular repair, dealer service, or mail-in service.

Last updated: August 6, 2026 Kitchener–Waterloo, Ontario Prices + applicable HST unless stated otherwise
No successful repair, no labour fee.Standard diagnosis is currently provided without a diagnostic fee. Pre-approved special-order parts, donor devices, shipping, or other non-recoverable costs may still be payable even when a repair is unsuccessful.

1. Agreement & Authorization

By leaving a device with iFixAndFlip, submitting a repair request, approving an estimate, authorizing work electronically, or asking us to proceed, the customer confirms that they own the device or are authorized by the owner to request the service.

Authorization may be recorded by signed form, online approval, email, text message, or another method that creates a reasonable record of the customer’s approval.

A request to diagnose a device is not permission to perform additional paid work beyond the repair scope or cost that the customer has approved.

2. Diagnosis, Estimates & No-Labour-Fee Policy

Standard diagnosis is currently offered without a diagnostic fee. If the customer decides not to proceed after diagnosis or estimate, no diagnostic labour fee is normally charged unless a different fee or condition was clearly disclosed and accepted before the relevant work began.

Estimates are based on information reasonably available at the time. Hidden damage, prior repair attempts, corrosion, structural damage, unavailable parts, intermittent faults, or additional failed components may change the recommended repair path.

If additional paid work or a material price change becomes necessary, iFixAndFlip will seek customer authorization before proceeding.

Current service principle: if the approved repair is not successfully completed, we do not charge the labour fee for that unsuccessful repair. Separately approved non-recoverable costs may still apply.

3. Repair Approval & Changes to Price

iFixAndFlip will not intentionally proceed with additional chargeable repair work outside the approved scope without customer authorization.

If diagnosis reveals a different fault, additional required part, or materially different repair cost, the repair may be paused and an updated estimate or approval request will be sent.

If the revised work is declined, the customer remains responsible only for charges or non-recoverable costs previously disclosed and approved, subject to applicable law.

Unless a price is expressly stated to include tax, quoted prices are subject to applicable HST.

4. Special-Order Parts, Donor Devices & Non-Recoverable Costs

Some repairs cannot continue without a model-specific part, donor board, donor device, display, housing, component, or other item purchased specifically for that customer’s repair.

iFixAndFlip does not normally require advance payment before ordering such an item. Before ordering, the customer will be told the relevant cost and asked to authorize the purchase.

Once the customer approves a special-order or other non-recoverable cost and iFixAndFlip orders or commits to that item, the approved cost remains payable even if the final repair is unsuccessful, unless iFixAndFlip agrees otherwise or applicable law requires otherwise.

Example: if a repair is $500 plus HST when successful and the customer separately approves a $250 plus HST donor-board cost required to attempt the repair, an unsuccessful repair may result in no labour charge while the approved donor-board cost remains payable.

Special-order costs are not intended to be hidden charges. Approval should be obtained before iFixAndFlip commits to the purchase.

5. Parts Quality & Disclosure

Depending on the device, repair, availability, and customer choice, replacement parts may include service-original/OEM parts where available, refurbished original parts, original pulled parts, premium aftermarket parts, or other suitable replacement components.

The proposed part type or quality will be disclosed before the repair where reasonably applicable and should also be identified on the estimate, invoice, or repair record.

If the discussed part is unavailable and a materially different part type is proposed, customer approval will be requested before proceeding.

6. Customer-Supplied Parts

iFixAndFlip does not normally install customer-supplied replacement parts. Parts from unknown sources may be defective, incompatible, previously used, damaged, counterfeit, or of uncertain quality.

An exception may be considered where a customer owns a compatible donor device or where iFixAndFlip expressly agrees in writing to use a customer-provided item.

Any exception, labour charge, testing limitation, or warranty limitation for a customer-provided item will be explained separately before work proceeds.

7. Device Passcodes & Functional Testing

A device passcode or PIN is optional. It may be requested when access beyond the lock screen is reasonably necessary to test cameras, cellular service, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, speakers, microphones, sensors, charging behaviour, or other device functions.

Customers may decline to provide a passcode. Functions that cannot reasonably be checked may then be documented as “Not Tested – Passcode Unavailable” or similar.

iFixAndFlip cannot confirm the pre-repair or post-repair condition of a function that could not reasonably be tested. This does not remove responsibility for damage that is later shown to have been caused by iFixAndFlip’s repair work.

If a passcode is provided, it is used only as reasonably necessary for authorized repair or testing. Routine repair service does not require Apple ID, Google, email, banking, social-media, or other unrelated account passwords.

8. Customer Data, Backups & Data-Erasing Procedures

Customers are responsible for backing up important data before repair whenever reasonably possible.

Devices submitted for repair may already contain unstable, damaged, corrupted, intermittently functioning, or failing hardware or software. A device that currently powers on may become inaccessible during diagnosis or repair because of the underlying fault, even where reasonable care is used.

iFixAndFlip does not intentionally erase a device as part of ordinary hardware repair. If a proposed step is reasonably expected to require a factory reset, restore, reinstallation, or other intentional data-erasing procedure, additional customer authorization will be requested before that step is performed.

Data recovery is a separate service and cannot be guaranteed.

A boot-looping, liquid-damaged, intermittently restarting, no-power, or board-damaged device may fail completely before or during repair. Where data is irreplaceable, tell us before authorizing work so that the repair strategy can be discussed.

9. High-Risk & Advanced Repairs

Board-level repair, microsoldering, donor-board work, processor or memory-related work, corrosion repair, prior-repair correction, severely damaged connectors, and other advanced repairs may carry a higher risk than ordinary modular part replacement.

Where iFixAndFlip identifies a materially elevated risk, the repair may be paused and the customer may be asked to acknowledge that specific risk before work continues.

Authorization of a high-risk repair is not a guarantee of success. It authorizes a reasonable repair attempt within the agreed scope.

10. Liquid Damage & Corrosion

Liquid exposure can affect multiple circuits and components and may continue to create problems after a device initially appears to work again.

Corrosion may be hidden under shields, connectors, integrated circuits, flex assemblies, or other components. A successful repair of one liquid-related fault does not guarantee that unrelated damage will not appear later.

Warranty coverage for liquid-damaged devices applies only as described in the separate 90-Day Limited Warranty and does not cover new failures caused by continuing or previously hidden corrosion outside the documented repair.

11. Water Resistance & Original Seals

Opening or repairing a phone, tablet, watch, or other sealed device may affect the original adhesive, seals, gaskets, or ingress-protection characteristics.

Even when replacement adhesive or seals are installed, iFixAndFlip does not guarantee restoration of the manufacturer’s original factory water-resistance or ingress-protection rating after repair.

Customers should treat a repaired device as not guaranteed against future liquid or moisture exposure.

12. Turnaround, Parts Availability & Delays

Turnaround times are estimates unless a specific written commitment is made. Repair time may be affected by diagnosis, parts availability, shipping delays, supplier issues, hidden faults, customer approval delays, testing, or repair complexity.

iFixAndFlip will make reasonable efforts to communicate material delays but does not guarantee completion by an estimated date unless expressly agreed in writing.

13. Payment, Taxes & Device Release

Unless otherwise stated, prices are quoted before applicable HST.

Payment of the final approved balance is due before a repaired device is released for pickup or shipped back to the customer.

A device will not normally be released or return-shipped while approved repair charges, approved special-order costs, approved shipping costs, or other agreed amounts remain unpaid.

Any payment-method discount or tax-included promotional price must be expressly stated. A cash discount does not remove applicable tax obligations.

14. Unclaimed Devices & Storage

iFixAndFlip does not currently charge a routine storage fee. Customers should nevertheless collect or arrange return of completed, declined, or unrepaired devices promptly after notification.

Where approved repair or other lawful charges remain unpaid, iFixAndFlip may retain possession of the device to the extent permitted by applicable Ontario law.

iFixAndFlip will not treat a device as automatically abandoned merely because a short pickup period has passed. Any lien, sale, retention, or other disposition of an unclaimed device will be handled only in accordance with applicable law and any required notice procedures.

There is currently no automatic “30-day ownership transfer” and no routine storage fee. If a storage-fee policy is introduced later, it will be disclosed prospectively rather than added retroactively to an existing repair.

15. Removed & Replaced Parts

If a customer wants a removed part returned, the customer should request this before the repair is completed so the request can be recorded.

Removed parts may not be returnable where they must be returned to a supplier, manufacturer, warranty provider, recycler, or core-return program, or where they are consumed or materially altered during an authorized repair process.

Parts that are not requested and do not need to be retained may be recycled, disposed of, or otherwise handled in the ordinary course of business.

16. 90-Day Limited Repair Warranty

Eligible repairs performed by iFixAndFlip are covered by the separate 90-Day Limited Warranty.

The warranty is limited to the documented repair, related workmanship, and eligible part supplied and installed by iFixAndFlip. It is not a warranty on the entire device.

Physical damage, new internal display damage, drops, pressure, bending, crushing, liquid or moisture exposure, continuing corrosion, unrelated faults, unauthorized tampering, other-shop work affecting the repair, software issues, account issues, data loss, and normal cosmetic wear may be excluded as described in the warranty terms.

17. Repair Limitations & Customer Rights

Electronics repair involves existing customer-owned equipment whose full internal condition may not be known before disassembly or diagnosis. iFixAndFlip does not guarantee that every device can be repaired or that an attempted repair will restore every unrelated function.

Where a problem is shown to have been caused by iFixAndFlip’s workmanship or an eligible part supplied and installed by iFixAndFlip, the matter will be assessed under the applicable warranty and customer-protection rights.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive, exclude, or limit any right, remedy, warranty, or liability that cannot lawfully be waived or excluded under applicable consumer-protection or other law.

18. Privacy & Personal Information

Personal information, device information, optional passcodes, uploaded files, communications, and repair records are handled in accordance with the iFixAndFlip Privacy Policy.

Customers should avoid providing unrelated passwords or sensitive information that is not reasonably necessary for the requested repair.

19. Changes, Severability & Governing Law

These Terms may be updated as iFixAndFlip’s services, policies, technology, or legal obligations change. The current version will be posted with its latest update date.

Terms applicable to an already-authorized repair should not be materially changed retroactively without appropriate notice or agreement.

If part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in Ontario, Canada, subject to any mandatory consumer rights or jurisdictional rules that apply.
